We would like to thank the generous donors of Help Charity UK for supporting us to renovate Ummul Qura Education & Orphanage centre.
The orphanage houses approximately 350 children and provides them with an education, accommodation and food on a daily basis. They provide both mainstream education and religious education to the children, giving them the chance to have a successful future we hope.
The Orphanage requires your continuous support as we have now completed phase 1 of the renovation works. During phase 1 we insured the main aspects and the most needed repairs and renovations were carried out to help improve the facilities. The renovations so far have been to renovate the Kitchen to have better equipment to enable them to increase the cooking capacity. We further renovated the classrooms which were in state of disrepair, which would create a positive environment for the children to learn in. The exterior of the Orphanage has also no been repainted to give it a fresh look. Finally as part of the phase one renovations we also added a new playground for the children to be able to enjoy outdoor playtime with Swings, slides and a roundabout. The children were extremely happy with the new playground facilities provided as you can imagine.
We do further intend to carryout more works as we raise funds again for the orphanage. One of the main task next will be to renovate the Prayer facility for the children which has over the years deteriorated and needs works to be able to bring it back to its former glory.
